The hard part is finding it all, because the festivals are on one site and the town lightings are buried on a city calendar and the Christmas trains sell out before you even hear about them. The North Georgia orchards around Ellijay and Blue Ridge usually run pick your own from late summer through October, and the Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay is October 10 and 11 and October 17 and 18, 2026.
The North Georgia mountains usually peak mid to late October, a few weeks later than up north. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway runs its fall foliage trains September 19 to November 3, 2026.
Dahlonega lights its whole square the day after Thanksgiving for its Old Fashioned Christmas, Helen does Christmas in its little Bavarian village, and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway runs the Santa Express.
