I’m not going to pretend I built a flight search engine (I can barely keep up with the ones that exist), because the best one is already free and it’s called PointsYeah, so I want to walk you through how I use it to find our family’s flights, step by step.
It opens in a new tab so this page stays right here, and you can find your seats over there and then pop back to me to track the points and plan the rest of the trip.
one thing to watch
Sometimes a seat shows up in a search but it won’t really book when you try, and it’s called phantom award space (which sounds made up, but it isn’t). So always confirm the seat is really there before you transfer any points, because transfers usually can’t be undone, and when in doubt search on the airline’s own site too.
So that’s honestly the whole thing, you bring the points and PointsYeah finds the seats and I’m here to help you make sense of it all, and I hope you guys find somewhere wonderful to go.
